Coco de Mer is one of my favourite luxury lingerie retailers, with its perfectly-curated combination of style, opulence and kink. I’ll often discover new designers and unique designs through their store, like this which is one of a few gems I’ve picked up via their website.

Like many luxury lingerie retailers, they’ve also launched their own in-house range. Coco de Mer really knows its style, so it makes sense for them to offer a range of exclusive designs that complement the other brands they sell.

Coco de Mer’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection sticks to their signature blend of eroticism and decadence, made from beautiful laces and embroideries in shapes that reveal as much as they conceal. Some of these shapes are repeats of previous designs – last season’s Persephone is back in classic black, as are the half-cupped and cupless Sylph bras. Sylph has also been remade in glossy white.

Other pieces are completely new, like the beautiful Curiosa bra, which features the awesome cutaway gore shape I’m such a fan of right now. It’s not the first such bra around, but it’s still a new enough idea that it looks strikingly different – not to mention ever-so sexy!

Another bra that features this unusual gore detail is the Medusa halter bra, one of the standout pieces from the entire collection. Cutaway cups frame the bust, made from a simple black mesh that doesn’t distract from the incredible design. And if you look very close up, you might notice something else – all of the golden eyelets are shaped like tiny cocos de mer! It’s small details like this that really set luxury lingerie apart from the high-street stuff.

Lily is my other favourite range from Coco de Mer’s new collection, mainly thanks to that skirt. Sheer pencil skirts are nothing new in lingerie, but I think this may just be the best one I’ve seen yet. Crafted from all-over sheer, eyelash-edged lace, it’s slit to thigh-height at the back with a single black tassel – from a distance, the design resembles a zip and zip pull, tantalisingly opened all the way.

The tassel detail also features on the backs of the two knickers in the Lily range – a cheeky, ouvert brief and a thong. I like the juxtaposition between the bold, strappy black details and the delicate, ebony-white lace, and the bra is also lovely with its barely-there design of quarter cups and narrow, sheer lace.

Although I honestly like almost every piece in Coco de Mer’s S/S16 collection, I’ll finish by talking about another piece that most speaks to me – the Alis longline bra. It’s one of those triangle-cupped bralets with a wide, scalloped band that are so popular right now, particularly on the indie lingerie scene, but caught my eye because of the beautiful French lace.

With a very open weave, it looks like a cross between the harshness of fishnet and the delicacy of eyelash lace – a fabric that I think encapsulates Coco de Mer’s aesthetic! With its delicate rose shimmer and silk-covered buttons, it’s a romantic bra that sits perfectly alongside the lacy, pink and gold Lorina range pictured below.

I would readily associate Coco de Mer’s aesthetics as dark and sultry, but…

Not saying that the sultriness doesn’t exist in their collection, but Lorina, with its toned down blue and pink is gorgeous and delightful! &amp,lt,3
